Why choose Valencia?
Valencia is Spain’s third city with a lively cosmopolitan atmosphere. The climate can best be described as ‘amazing’, allowing residents to enjoy the beaches almost year round.
The old town has been lovingly preserved, including highlights like La Llotja de la Seda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Mercado Central. But Valencia is also a modern city and boasts the space age “La Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias” in the reclaimed river bed, which is itself another of the city’s main attractions. It is without doubt, one of Spain’s most beautiful cities.
Valencia has a busy cultural life. Districts like Barrio del Carmen, Ruzafa and El Cabanyal provide a wide choice of restaurants, bars and clubs. There are concerts at the Palau de Música, three foreign language cinemas, and excellent museums. The city has two football teams in La Liga, Valencia FC and Levante, and tickets are available. The opera house attracts international stars, as does the music festival at Benicassim every July; recent headliners include The Arctic Monkeys, The Stone Roses and The Killers. There really is something for everybody.
The city’s fiestas are world famous, particularly Las Fallas in March, when enormous statues are built across the city and then burnt on the 19th. The city surrenders itself to a week of fireworks, bonfires and parties that cannot be missed.
“The Albufera Natural Park” is one of the most typical and valuable of Valencia’s and the Mediterranean’s coastal wetlands. With an area of 21,120 hectares, it is located just 10 km from Valencia. Its proximity and ease of access make it a perfect destination if you want to get out of the city and relax. Throughout the year, the great biodiversity of this protected natural space allows to observe features a large variety of fauna and flora.
Why do CELTA with Lenguas-Vivas Valencia?
Lenguas-Vivas has been offering English language education in Valencia since 1990 and is one of the leaders in its field. Since 2011 the school has been working in partnership with Cambridge English Language Assessment as a centre for English Language Qualifications, including all the Cambridge Suite examinations. The school is also a centre for the American qualifications TOEFL, TOEIC, and the French TFI.
The school’s ethos mixes youthful enthusiasm with proven experience. Our trainers have many years’ experience of running CELTA both here in Valencia and in other countries, which gives our teacher training department an international outlook uncommon in Spain.
The school is equipped with all the latest educational technology, including Interactive Whiteboards and a computer room, all of which are made available to our trainees. We also have a well-stocked up-to-date resource centre for students, trainees and teachers.
The school has two centres. Both are close to Metro stations and within a few minutes’ walk of the city centre.
